About ALICE:

The ALICE project created RedCLARA – the first regional research and education network for Latin America. It connected regional researchers to each other, by linking national research networks, and it also connected them with their counterparts in Europe via GÉANT2, the high bandwidth, pan-European research network. RedCLARA went live in 2004 and stimulated the development of many National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in the region. ALICE had four European and 19 Latin American partners, including the Latin American Research Networking Association CLARA. Funding for the ALICE project was extended until March 2008.
